Our Listing

If you're a natural goofball, have high performance energy, love working with kids, can allow yourself to be silly, never shy away from being the center of attention, would excel at leading “The Chicken Dance", and can be “the life of the party", Daizy the Clown & Company wants to meet you!

  • $50 for a the first hour of a party, $20 for additional 30 minutes + tips (parties are generally longer than 1 hour, depends on the number of children expected). Picnics run between 2 to 6 hours at $30/hour. Gas/drive where applicable. Multiple events per weekend, on average.

  • Daizy is looking to cast several diverse persons for our ongoing children's party performances and picnics. Seeking versatile performers who would make cute, bouncy, friendly, approachable and adorable clowns (without white face makeup), and who'd train for kids' games, simple magic, and simple cheek art face painting and balloon twisting.

  • Looking for reliable professionals for ongoing weekend performance opportunities, as we book in advance based on the performers' personally provided schedules. Seeking persons with an average of at least 75% weekend availability per month at this time. Of course, the more availability, the better for all!

  • Number of gigs per weekend varies due to many factors (performers' availability, season, weather, etc.), but we work to book as many gigs as can reasonably be accommodated. Committed, available, reliable, punctual and communicative performers likely average $200/weekend, as it’s impossible to predict how big tips may be. Some weekends will be very light, some very busy.

  • If you are reliable, responsible, punctual, outgoing, athletic &/or energetic with personal transportation & excellent communication skills, we're interested in talking to you. Bring your natural abilities, your personality, a great can-do attitude, and good weekend availability to the table. Daizy will train for the rest. Great part-time weekend gig!

Intro and Overview!

The following information is presented to all potential performers, giving you a basic overview of who we are, what we do, and how we do it!

This is fun and flexible weekend work, available on an ongoing basis per the performers' agreed upon personal availability month to month.  We encourage you to visit our picture page to check out our brand of “cute, bouncy, friendly, approachable and adorable clowns" HERE.

Five Pillars of Daizy Clown Success are …

  1. Be on time!

  2. Look great!

  3. Have a lively personality!

  4. Be sweet to the kids!

  5. Have good skills!

  • The Daizy party program includes simple games, kids’ magic, face painting and animal balloon twisting.  We train for all of these activities.

  • The Daizy picnic program includes paint and balloons, goofing around, blowing bubbles, and eating popsicles with kids in the park, etc.

  • Party pay is $50/first hour, $20/additional 30 mins.  Many of our party events are more than an hour long.

  • Picnic pay is $30/hour.  Picnics typically run 3 - 6 hours.

  • We are tipped at parties, sometimes very generously.  Though it can never be “expected”, it happens most of the time.

Scheduling, Drive, Etc.

  • The more available a performer is, the more versatile, the more valuable, the more work!

  • Regarding scheduling: We ask for availability mid-month for the next month's weekends.  So, for example, we might ask the staff on March 15th for their availability for April weekends.  The performers then let us know when they're on, when they're off, and are scheduled accordingly.  It is an extremely effective, efficient, and the most financially remunerative way of allowing the office to accept as much work as possible on behalf of the performer.  How this works is a very specific conversation as all performers must get the hang of this system completely, and quickly, for us to avoid scheduling snafus.

  • The flexibility of this job is one of its great benefits, but do please know that at this time we are not interested in bringing on performers who will regularly have less than 75% availability a month for weekends.  We are conscientiously rebuilding the staff from our Covid shut down with top talent. The time, effort and expense of getting a new clown ready to perform can only be supported with good availability on the performer's part.  If you'll only be available one or two days a month, this won't work for us at present!

  • Public transportation and ride share services are not logistically practical or feasible for this line of work, for multiple reasons.  Whereas a clown on the bus is an amusing thought, you will have equipment, costume changes, down time between events, etc.

  • This is a driving job! Again, we look to the average and share this responsibility.  You may be scheduled with a drive, where we're charging the client a gas/drive fee, in addition to trying to get you more work either 1) on the way, 2) while you're there or 3) on the way back, if at all possible.  Or you might be scheduled literally blocks away from home.  It all evens out in the end.  However, if you are at all “drive sensitive” this is not the gig for you!

  • We work year-round, with our busy season starting in the Spring and going gangbusters through October.  The winter months are slower, so we use them to find and train new performers.  But this is a “big picture" kind of gig.  Some weekends are going to be crazy busy with multiple parties per day and both days of the weekend, others not so much depending on a number of factors (like season, weather, sometimes there are fires, sometimes it's the Super Bowl, etc...).  We look at the year-end average, it adds up very quickly!

The Daizy Ethos

  • We value kindness, reliability, communication and punctuality above all else!

  • As far as scheduling accommodations: We will do for you whatever we can, whenever we can. 9 times outta 10, we’ll be able to figure out how to make it work… But this is with the reciprocal respect and understanding that the day will inevitably come, when you do for us what you must, and fulfill the gigs we’ve arranged for you with your agreed upon availability. This is a collaboration, we make things happen for each other. It’s a system that has worked for decades, allowing us to maintain healthy working relationships with our performers, most of whom have been with us for years.

  • We invest a lot of effort in your training, and a focused trainee can be working within 3 weeks, in some cases sooner.  How training works is a bigger conversation.

Submitting to Daizy

  • Please email a picture and resume (maybe even a brief statement of interest why you'd think you'd be a good fit for Daizy) to info@daizyclowns.com!

  • Should we be interested in moving forward, we’ll then schedule a Zoom chat. From there, if appropriate, you accompany a performer to observe a party.  After that, should you feel it's a good fit for you, you train…then you work! And merrily we roll along…

Ultimately this gig is about being an Ambassador of Joy!
It's our greatest desire that you have a good time, because this will shine through into your performance.
This is our “good work in the world”, and we hope you can come out to play!

Sincerely,
Tegan & the Daizies
